AI + Creative Industries

The AI + Creative Industries category focuses on work that expands the role of artificial intelligence within creative practice while engaging critically with its wider societal implications.

My work was recognised through Parallaxe, an AI-mediated dialogue system designed to structure and de-escalate conversations between people with opposing political views.

The project combines interaction design, conversational AI, multi-agent systems and real-time mediation to explore whether AI can support more constructive political exchange without replacing human judgment.

Responsible AI as a design question

A recurring theme in my work is that responsible AI cannot be treated as an additional layer added after a system has already been built.

Questions around uncertainty, privacy, consent, transparency and human oversight influence how an AI system should behave from the beginning.

In Parallaxe, this includes making uncertainty visible, limiting the role of the system as an authority and designing the interaction around mediation rather than automated decision-making.

From technical systems to social interaction

What interests me most about AI is not only what the technology can generate, but how people behave around it.

Whether an AI system appears as a conversational agent, a digital avatar or an invisible mediation layer, its design shapes how much authority people assign to it, what they disclose and how they interpret its responses.

My practice therefore moves between technical prototyping, interaction design and research into the social consequences of emerging technologies.

Recognition within a global AI community

The 2025/26 awards received more than 250 applications, with 28 finalists from six continents across ten categories.

The ceremony at the London School of Economics brought together founders, researchers and practitioners working across areas including health, education, climate, safety, governance and the creative industries.

For me, the award was especially meaningful because it placed creative and design-led approaches to AI alongside technical and sector-specific applications, recognising that the way intelligent systems are designed and experienced is part of their societal impact.
